The City of Jamestown is accepting applications for the position of Water Maintenance Operator I. This position involves a wide variety of unskilled and semi-skilled labor activities in the routine operation and maintenance of the water distribution system. Applicants must be able to perform moderately heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time in all types of weather. Applicants must have the ability to learn and understand the hazards and safety precautions common to excavations. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and must hold a valid North Dakota Class “D” driver’s license. Applicant must be able to obtain a North Dakota Class “B” driver’s license, with air brake endorsement, within one (1) year. The successful applicant must be able to obtain a Class I Water Distribution Operators Certification from the North Dakota State Health Department within two (2) years of employment.

The City of Garrison is seeking a qualified applicant for a Water Plant/Distribution Operator/City Maintenance position. The applicant would be required to operate and maintain a Class 3 Surface Water Treatment System and pump station facilities.
If selected, the applicant will receive on the job training and testing to obtain a Class 3 certification. Job duties include performing and assisting with all water plant, water distribution, wastewater, city streets, city grounds, and city landfill maintenance to include the proper operation and maintenance of all heavy equipment.
The position is full time with a starting salary of $20.00 to $32.00 per hour depending on experience with excellent benefits.
