National Rural Water Association Donates $25,000 to Support Hurricane Response Efforts

DUNCAN, OKLA. -- The National Rural Water Association (NRWA) is excited to announce it is donating $25,000 to five states affected by Hurricane Helene to aid in response and relief efforts. NRWA’s leadership voted to match the $25,000 donation made by CoBank last week, doubling the amount that will be given to member State Associations in Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina. CoBank, a long-time diamond sponsor of NRWA, provides financing for rural America, including water and wastewater infrastructure.

The combined donations of $50,000 will go toward offsetting major operations and maintenance costs associated with responding to the hurricane. This includes items such as tires, hoses, pumps, and fuel that are all needed to operate the emergency response equipment which impacted small and rural systems are dependent upon.
