Bismarck, ND – The North Dakota State Water Commission and Department of Water Resources (DWR) have announced the schedule for commissioner-hosted basin meetings across the state. The on-site meetings are held every other summer in each of the state’s eight major drainage basins and are open to the public.
At each of their respective meetings, Water Commission members provide brief updates regarding contemporary issues in their basin, and representatives from the DWR will present a biennium budget update, budget guidelines for 2025, information on the 2025 water development planning process and other agency efforts.
A key function of the Water Commission is to review and approve cost-share requests from local project sponsors, so Commissioners encourage those same sponsors to present project summaries of projects they might bring forward for funding during the next budget cycle. Public comments will also be welcome during the meeting.
