Julie Hein

Julie began working for ND Rural Water in December 2019 after retiring from her teaching career. She began her venture into the water and wastewater world as a source water protection specialist, delved into other programs as a private well technician and water quality action specialist, and is currently holding the titles of drinking water training specialist and project & funding specialist.  She is a native of Wing, ND, and now serves as mayor of the city. She graduated from Mary College in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science in Natural Science and an emphasis in Mathematics. She taught high school science, math and health for 25 years. During her teaching career, earned a Master of Science in Education Administration and was elementary principal for three years. She is a mother of three adult children and the grandmother of seven. Hein fills her spare time as a business owner, mayor of Wing, co-manager of the Wing Theatre, and water/wastewater operator for the city of Wing.
